Cloe Luv’s Business Advice, Woman to Woman
In anticipation of the new women’s community app, Women Uplifting Women, I wanted to talk to founder Cloe Luv about her advice for women entrepreneurs.
What advice would you give to a woman looking to start her own business?
Cloe: I was reading an interview with the founder of Spanx, she spoke about protecting your idea. When you start a business, it takes so much energy. Being an entrepreneur comes with a lot of stress. You have to protect your energy. This process can make you or break you. Protect your idea, develop it before sharing it, and take care of your energy and drive.

What’s one of the best lessons you’ve learned on your entrepreneurship journey?
Cloe: It’s ok to take a knee. It’s ok to fall. Because it’s not about that. It’s about getting back up. Dust yourself off and walk again. Sometimes you need to take losses. Sometimes things won’t work out the way you want them too. That can deter people. It’s a learning experience. Sometimes we go through struggles and we don’t understand why it has to be so hard, but if we keep going we can come out on top. Don’t give up. Everything will align. Your story will give others strength and confidence. Your story is fuel to someone else. You cant expect a million dollar fortune with thousand dollar work ethics and hundred dollar skills. You have to be open-minded, and go out there and do what’s needed to be successful.
Who was your best business mentor?
Cloe: Sharon Osbourne was really inspirational to me when it came to a serial entrepreneur. Her husband and mine are both musicians and she works on a lot of projects. I also like Oprah for that, she overcame a lot of trials and tribulations. I pull energy from her journey and seeing her success. I also love Mark Cuban [laughs], his story…I was reading about him one day and I was in shock. He got into three amazing business schools but opted to go to the cheapest one so he could afford to pay his way. I’ve never heard anything bad about him. He always looks like he’s got great energy. He went from selling door to door to being a billionaire and seems like he has humble energy. To me, a big part of success is not allowing riches to dictate who you are. I think that’s what true success is.
